Child Care Programs - on Installation
Child
Care Service-Fort Benning, GA
Full-Day Care Centers: Main Post Child Development Center, McGraw
Child Development center,and SanteFe Child Development Center. Full Day
care is designed for parents who need childcare services for their
children on a regular basis. Care can be pro- vided no more than 11
hours per day.
Part Day Preschool: Patch Hall
This program is designed for parents who wish to provide enrich- ing
social, emotional, and educational experiences for 3 and 4 year old
children. Classes are conducted 5,3 ,and 2 days per week for 2 1/2 hours
per day.
School Age Services: Patch Hall
This program is designed to offer supervised daily activities for
children 5-12 years of age before and after regular school hours. Care
is also provided during school holidays.
Child Care Homes: Various Fort
Benning Housing Areas Child care is provided by an adult family member
occupying government government quarters. All parents requiring such
services for their children must select a certified caregiver for care.
ALL PERSONS PROVIDING OVER 10 HOURS OF CHILD CARE SERVICES PER WEEK IN
THEIR QUARTERS ARE REQUIRED TO BE CERTIFIED BY CDS. Certified homes are
monitored for health, safety, and quality of service.

Child
Development Center Care provided on an irregular (drop-in) basis that
does not exceed 5 hours per day.
CHILD CARE CENTER RATES ARE BASED
ON TOTAL FAMILY INCOME. PROOF OF INCOME IS REQUIRED UPON ORIENTATION AT
THE ASSIGNED CENTER. PROOF OF IMMUNIZATION IS REQUIRED FOR REGISTRATION.
A HEALTH EXAMINATION IS REQUIRED WITHIN 30 DAYS AFTER REGISTRATION. FOR

CHILD DEVELOPMENT CENTERS
Patch Pre-School - This child care center is
located on the corner of Baltzell Avenue and Lumpkin Road, and is
operated by the Parents Association. Preschool care for children three
and four years of age is provided. For additional information call

Main Post -- Located on Yeager Avenue, the Main
Post Child Development Center is a full day, five-day-a-week center. The
center is open 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday through Friday, but is
closed on federal holidays and weekends. Breakfast, lunch, and snacks
are served daily. Services are provided for children six weeks to five

Main Post
McGraw -- Located on Custer Road near McBride
School, McGraw Child Development Center is open from 5:30 a.m. to 6:30
p.m., Monday through Friday for children ages one to 12 years. Programs
offered include the following: full-day care, part-day preschool
sessions, and before and after services which include a summer school

Santa Fe Child Development Center -- Located on
Santa Fe Road next to Love Dental Clinic, Santa Fe

Child Development Center is a full day,
five-day-a-week center. The center is open 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Monday
through Friday, but is closed on federal holidays and weekends.
Breakfast, lunch, and snacks are served daily. Services are provided for
children six weeks to five years of age. For additional information,

Tot Town -- Tot Town is located on First
Division Road. Care is provided for children three months to 12 years.
The center operates on an hourly basis, weekdays 5:30 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.,
and Fridays to midnight. Closed weekends and federal holidays.

Central Registration for Child Care -- Central
Registration, located on Custer Road next to McBride School, is the
starting point for using any childcare facility on post. All children
must be registered in the system. The office is open for registration
8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Monday through Friday but is closed on federal
holidays and weekends. Current shot records are required for child

FAP
Respite Child Care
Respite Care is temporary child care
for the purpose of relieving parental stress and to provide a nurturing
and developmentally appropriate environment. Families may receive
respite care when both Soldier and spouse attend parenting classes or
counseling. Respite care will not be used in place of foster care
or abandoned children. This program provides child care relief for
families who are stressed because of a family problem and who are
participating in treatment programs
FAMILY CHILD CARE
Family Child Care is in-home care provided by an adult
family member occupying government quarters. Quarters-based care can
offer alternative care options for special needs that may be unavailable
in center programs.
Care-givers are trained and certified by the Office of
Child Development Services.

SCHOOL
AGE SERVICES
The Fort Benning School Age Services program provides
before and after school care for children, as well as full day care on
school holidays and summer vacation. The program opens at 5:30 a.m.,
serves breakfast and transports children to school. In the afternoon,
the children are picked up at school, given a snack and supervised
during age-appropriate activities. The program closes at 6 p.m. During
full time days, a lunch is served. The main center is located at Patch
Hall on the corner of Baltzell Avenue and Lumpkin Road. Stowers School
is serviced by the McGraw Outreach Center. Loyd School is housed at the
Youth Service building on Main Post. The Computer and Homework Centers
are located at Patch Hall. The program operates Monday through Friday,

(CDS)
Child Development Services offers a variety of top quality child care
services to include full-day care, part-day pre-school, school-age,

Schol Age Services offer before and after school care for the children
in Grades K-6 attending schools on Fort Benning. The program also offers
full time care on teacher workshop days. SAS offers full day camp
sessions during the school vacations.
